Matetic, Corralillo Garnacha 2021

Matetic are one of Chile's pioneers of biodynamic & organic winemaking, believing that farming with an acknowledgement of all the fauna & flora surrounding and inhabiting their vineyards benefits the wine - something we definitely agree with. Their vineyards in the Rosario Valley are located on the central coast of Chile, nestled between the wilds of the Pacific Ocean and heights of the Coastal Mountains; the ideal conditions to produce both red & white wines with incredible freshness, vibrancy and precision. Corralillo Garnacha 2021 is taken from vineyards in the Casablanca Valley, where proximity to the sea (18km) and granite soils makes for a bright, expressive red. The grapes were hand-harvested and aged for 14 months in old French oak barrels to increase complexity and texture. A nose of fresh cherry, raspberry, cranberry and thyme moves to an elegantly structured palate with a mineral acidity and long, juicy finish. Equally at home with poultry, red meats or cheese.
